Update on Kylie:
It has been a very busy two weeks, with packing and moving into the new house, doctor’s appointments and working (I never thought I would miss working so much!).
We have some important appointments coming up over the next two weeks.
Kylie will be having specific blood work done this week and next week to test for cancer. It is common for transplant patients to get cancer.
Unfortunately, Kylie has been losing weight recently and we have adjusted her feeds twice to try to help her gain weight. She will be getting weighed again on Thursday and we are praying she has not lost anymore weight.
Kylie will be starting capping trials very soon and we are so excited. She has done so well with her passy Muir valve and she is able to cough up all
her secretions on her own! We only have to suction her twice a day after breathing treatments.
If she does well with capping trials then we move forward with decannulation.
Please pray that the blood work comes back negative for cancer and that she has started to gain some weight.
