8/2 Kylie Brookes

Born last November with Surfactant B deficiency, Kylie and her family came from Virginia to Texas Children’s Hospital, where she was listed for a bilateral lung transplant.

Without a life-saving lung transplant, going home was never an option for Kylie. On April 17th, she received her new lungs and Kylie was cleared to leave the hospital and return home a few weeks later. We are so happy for you, Kylie!

Kylie is one of over 250 lung transplants Texas Children’s has performed since inception of its program, which leads the country in pediatric transplants. We are honored to have cared for so many patients.
