12/10 Update on Kylie

Kylie has RSV and Rhinovirus.

I don’t need to tell you that RSV is very dangerous and deadly for babies. It’s especially dangerous for babies with a suppressed immune system and respiratory issues.

This is my first time ever having to deal with RSV, my other children have never had it before. I’m very anxious.

We are waiting to hear if we need to bring her in or not to be admitted.

Her heart rate is elevated and she has increased secretions. We are doing breathing treatments to try to break up the mucus to help her breathe easier.

She has a slight fever. (She doesn’t usually run fevers at all. Even when she had sepsis she never had a fever. Texas thought she had immune system problems before transplant because she never ran fevers. But it’s just her normal.)

Transplant patients cannot take Motrin so we are limited to only Tylenol to control her fever.
