Last Tuesday, January 13, I had the opportunity to fly out to Nashville, TN to visit with some very special friends from over 50 years ago! Deneen Patton Murphy picked me up and drove me to her home in Spring Hill where I was able to surprise my dear Christian brother, Billy Patton. As I mentioned in an earlier post, Billy retired from preaching, about 5 years ago, to take care of his wife, Linda, who has advanced frontal lobe dementia. To say the least, it was a reunion filled with tears, laughter, old stories and serious talks. I found out that Billy spends most of his days sitting next to Linda, tending to her needs and just being there for her.
Thank you Lord, for filling my heart to overflowing with joy and happiness and for the opportunity to share in the hurt that the Patton family are experiencing daily!
Please continue praying for Linda and family as they travel this very difficult road!
