I received this text from Kim Hayes, about Steve, just a bit ago:
“Steve’s had a few rough days and it’s been hard to keep you updated. I’m posting this now to give you opportunities to pray with us. (If details are too much, please just pray.)
While the major surgeries for broken bones are behind him, the battle goes on. In addition to general healing, Steve has some specific issues needing miracles. 1) He has pneumonia in both lungs. Treating with strong antibiotics. 2) He has quite a bit of extra fluid in his body they are unable to just give a diuretic to deal with because his sodium is so high. It’s a balancing act. 3) He has developed a couple of blood clots, with a DVT in his left leg. Treating with anticoagulants. 4) Because of the pneumonia, fluids, and injuries to the lungs, the ventilator settings and oxygen numbers needed for the tracheostomy are still too high.”
