From Daniel’s Dad:
Yesterday was a day to cherish as we celebrated our son’s seventh birthday with a full slate of activities. It was both a sweet and sobering time—a moment to reflect and give thanks.
Since the biopsy, Daniel has been on a high dose of steroids to address his elevated ALT levels. Over the past several weeks, we’ve witnessed an incredible transformation in his numbers, dropping from over 2,000 to now just in the 50s. The doctors are thrilled with his progress, and for the first time in nearly a year of weekly hospital visits, they’ve pushed our next appointment to two weeks away. This milestone feels like such a blessing.
One of the most noticeable effects of the steroids has been Daniel’s insatiable hunger. Let’s just say his appetite has returned with a vengeance! In just a couple of weeks, he’s gained six pounds—a welcome change after struggling with weight loss (and minimal gains) over the past year.
We ask for your continued prayers for Daniel’s complete healing and for the day when we can finally have his mediport removed.
