Update on Kylie from her mother:
“I feel sick with worry 💔
Kylie is not having a good morning. 💔
After talking with her transplant team at TCH (Texas Children’s Hospital) this morning, we have discussed many options and next steps.
If Kylie cannot come off the oxygen completely then she will need to be transferred to Texas.
RSV can damage anyone’s lungs but it can also kick a transplant patient into rejection (any infection can). If Kylie cannot come off support then the fear is that her lungs were damaged and she is in rejection.
While she is inpatient and has an active IV, they want to do two high dose treatments of IVIG to help her immune system and prevent any rejection. She will be starting her first dose today. She will need to be monitored closely to make sure she does not have any negative reactions to the IVIG.
I am terrified and so anxious about her lungs being damaged and the possibility of her being in rejection. The next 24 hours will tell us a lot. If she can come off support then she is okay but if not then we are going to Texas.
PLEASE pray that Kylie can come off support and that her lungs are healthy. 🙏🏼
Prayer Warriors – this has been a roller coaster for this precious family!
Thank you for continued prayers!!!
