From David, Jane’s son:
“I’m sad to announce that on Wednesday, September 2nd at 7:52pm, Jane Burton passed away at Medical Center. She was suffering from pneumonia, and with the combination of illness, age, and heart issues, her heart simply stopped beating (She had a “Do not resuscitate” order).Dad is currently in ORMC with his own issues (hopefully will get out sometime today), but I had to get special permission to visit and tell Dad, as there’s no way I was going to share the news over the phone or let some stranger tell him. I wasn’t able to see him until last night, so that’s the reason for the belated news. Didn’t think it was fair to share the sad news until Dad was told first. We could sure use your prayers, especially for Dad. We all miss Mom terribly, but Dad is losing his faithful Christian wife of 61 years while suffering the effects of Chemo and stage 4 cancer. Of course, he’s being strong and uncomplaining as always.Thank you for the many sweet cards that helped lighten the load for Mom during her time at Encompass, Parks, and Medical Center. We feel grateful that she didn’t suffer for very long, and that she
was in good spirits during most of her final day. God’s timing is always perfect!Arrangements are pending. My sister, Jennifer, and her husband, Bryce, are flying in from their home in London today, and there’s a 14-day isolation period before she can see any of us.”
Please lift this family up in your prayers as they are navigating a difficult time with extra complications from COVID precautions.
Oh my!! I am so sorry to hear about Jane. Such a sweet lady! Prayers for Joe, David, and the rest of this sweet family.
So sorry to hear this. Mrs. Burton’s sweet smile was such a day brightener. Holding you all up in prayer.
