SC Crew 1 Grocery Word Mark Cropped

Welcome!

Welcome to the Spring Creek Crew Page! We are delighted that you are here.

The purpose of this page is to shed light on what the Spring Creek Crew is, what it does, and how you can get involved!

What is the Spring Creek Crew?

Excellent question! In short, the Spring Creek Crew is what we are calling our active volunteer base. For a while, we’ve had our Prayer Warriors who actively keep up with people that SCM is ministering to.

We want to make a bigger splash, though. While we believe that the power of prayer is huge, we also believe that service is one of the highest callings we have in the human race. With that, we are calling you to join us in actively ministering to those who need our help.

What does the Spring Creek Crew do?

Another great question! While we are getting off the ground with the SCC, we are asking for one thing: volunteers to spend time with people.

The best example of why we are doing this starts with a young lady we worked with, named Tiffany. Our son, Ross, met Tiffany through a friend at church who was looking for help with Tiffany’s wedding. Tiffany was hospital-bound with cystic fibrosis and was getting married. Ross and Jacob helped with the wedding, and, in turn, introduced us to Tiffany.

Part of Tiffany’s biggest struggle was battling loneliness while she was in the hospital.

One night, while she was battling severe pain and had reached out to Ross looking for someone to just come sit with her. Ross and Jacob were both out of town, as was Lonnie. Fortunately, Donna was in Lubbock and was able to spend some time with her.

Eventually, Tiffany was moved to Dallas where we couldn’t meet an immediate need if she found herself needing a comforting presence.

So, starting off, this is all we’re asking of the Crew: make yourself available for people who need someone present.

Beyond that, if you would like to make regular visits, that would be fantastic.

How do I get involved?

Look at you! Always with the good questions!

This is fairly simple: all you need to do is sign up through our contact form and check that you would like to be a crew member.

The requirements are pretty easy. When you sign up, make sure you enter your mobile phone number because, for now, we will send out requests via text message (text message and data rates may apply through your service provider).

How it’s going to work (for now)

For now, the best method of communication is going to be text messaging. If we get a request for some assistance, we will send a text message out to our Crew members (with some finesse we will be able to separate these geographically so you won’t get requests if they are not in your area). Once you get a request, if you are able and willing to take it, respond to the text message with a simple message letting us know that you are taking the request, and we will send out another message letting everyone know that it has been taken care of.

*It may go without saying, but these requests will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis.

FAQ

Do I have to be a donor to Spring Creek Ministries to be on the crew?
Absolutely not. If you wish to be a donor as well as a volunteer, we would be delighted, but, it is not required.

Does becoming a Crew member cost anything?
Being a Crew member is as free as you want it to be. The only things that will cost money are Crew member t-shirts and Crew member business cards. Both of these items are optional. The shirts will go to help fund Spring Creek and the cards will be as cheap as we can find them.

Do I have to live in Lubbock to be a crew member?
Nope! We want to cast as large a net as we can and help as many people as we can so, it doesn’t matter where you live, you can be a Crew member.
