These are texts I received from Jessica Johnson about her cousin:
8/27 Veronica passed out and lost consciousness. Ultimately needing 3 shocks to bring her back. Test have shown no heart attack or seizures. So far she has been weaned off sedation, is beginning to wake up & respond slightly. However, last night she had a severe reaction to a med they gave her for a headach. They said it was very traumatic, but didnt give detail.
Veronica passed her swallow test so she is able to eat some and they took her NG tube out of her nose. She started with chocolate ice cream because she didn’t like the cream of chicken soup lol. They were doing the MRI at 3 so she should be there now. She weaned off oxygen and they removed the central IV from her neck right before I left. PT and OT were there to work with her today as well.
Let’s be praying for Veronica and family. Also, for answers to why this happened!
