From Crystal, Rick’s daughter:
“The cardiologist came by early this morning. He ordered the echo and they showed up just a little while later. They wanted dad‘s heart pumping at 30% capacity or more or he would have to go home in an electric vest that zaps his heart if it gets out of rhythm. He was at 40%! They crunched his paperwork and sent him home! We got home a little while ago and he’s getting a well deserved nap!”
I was able to see Rick and family at the hospital in Abilene. He was in good spirits but still has lots of healing ahead of him. I was made aware just how serious Rick’s condition was when the attack happened. According to the doctor, if they had delayed rushing him to the hospital immediately the outcome would have been fatal.
That being said – Please do not delay if you ever feel any symptom of a heart attack.
Let’s continue prayers for Rick and family and for a speedy recovery.
