Kylie and her dad will be flying to Houston today.
Our transplant team suggested that one parent fly with Kylie, and the other parent drive (so we have a vehicle while in Houston.)
They believe driving that far would be too much stress on Kylie’s body, and we don’t want any surprises to keep Kylie from getting the surgery she needs asap.
We already are having problems with the surgery (explained below)
We thought it would be best that I drive with my other two kids, while dad goes with Kylie.
Kylie will be admitted first thing tomorrow morning and the surgery is planned for Tuesday.
The issue is that with trying to squeeze Kylie in last minute there are no available ORs or surgeons (the earliest they could schedule would be August and our team said no way). So our transplant team is trying to work the system by getting Kylie admitted and then forcing her way into the OR.
We know that we will definitely be in Houston at least a month but we’re told depending on the surgery we may be looking at something more long term. (Yes, we are looking at possibly relocating)
With Kylie’s numbers so high (24,000 antibodies) she may require long term treatment and a lot of hospital stays (worst case, another transplant)
We are trusting God. He has never failed us.
We love you all so much
Please pray for a safe flight
