Update from Ashley on Kylie:
So, we just spoke with our transplant team.
Kylie will be admitted on Monday and have surgery on Tuesday.
I was informed that back in May when they tested for !the antibodies attacking the lungs, she had 1000 antibodies.
Two weeks ago it jumped to 24,000 antibodies.
Because this is such an extremely high number so fast, they will be starting at least two treatments right away. They plan to be very aggressive.
The downside is that over two weeks they will take all her blood out of her body and replace it with new blood with NO antibodies. Good OR bad. They will do seven sessions of this.
She will be more immune compromised than ever before. She will basically have NO immune system.
While all this is taking place they will be looking at the piece of lung tissue they cut out to determine if she is fully in rejection or just skating on the edge of it.
Then proceed as needed.
