From Jerry’s wife, Patty:
Just an update: Jerry will be moving to Homestead of Sherman tomorrow. He will be on the MCR unit. He will be receiving PT, OT and Speech therapy. He will be there for at least 20 days and maybe as long as 100 days. It all depends on his willingness to get well.
He will also have the freedom to visit with the other residents and have a bit of a social life.
We are very optimistic about this change of venue. It is a lot more comfortable and homey.
He will be able to have visitors as long as he is not in therapy and I encourage anyone who would like to, to visit. Just give him a call and make sure he is available.
When he gets stronger, he will be able to go out on “therapeutic pass” for a couple of hours. Which means once he is moving around better he will be able to go for a ride and check out the local lakes. He has fished them all so you could get decent fishing tips.
We are praying that this change will bring the sparkle back in those baby blues and maybe some hope and determination back to his heart and soul.
Thank you all again for your prayers and support!
Oh and BTW, he is now insisting that I drive the truck because my car needs a little work! I drove it today for the very first time. Didn’t know a truck that big could suddenly be going 90 without any effort on my part.
So if you see it around, it’s me driving!
Y’all have a good night!
I’m going to sleep now!
